ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Rochester City Council is set to meet on Tuesday to discuss the sale of the former RCSD School No. 25 property to the Ibero American Development Corporation.
The Rochester City School District closed the school in 2020. The city plans to sell the property for $820,000 so Ibero can convert the building into housing.
The property has two parcels, the school building and parking lot on North Goodman Street and the athletic fields and community garden on Bay Street. Ibero plans to develop the school building into 29 units, develop the fields on Bay Street into another 20 units, and keep the garden.
The sale is expected to close next year and construction is expected to start in 2027. The project could be done as early as 2028. Tuesday’s City Council meeting will begin at 6 p.m. You can stream it on City Council’s YouTube page.
