India will be hosting the Women's ODI World Cup for the fourth time, and first time since 2013. Eight teams - India, Australia, England, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, New Zealand, South Africa, and Bangladesh - will be competing in the upcoming marquee event.
The format of the tournament will see each team playing the other seven teams once in the round-robin format. The top four teams will then qualify for the semifinals. Overall, the tournament will have 28 league games followed by two semifinals and the final. The matches will be played across Bengaluru, Indore, Guwahati, Visakhapatnam and Colombo.
Pakistan will be playing all of their games in Colombo. As a result, the final could be shifted to Colombo from Bengaluru if Pakistan qualify for the title-decider.
Reigning champions Australia will open their campaign against New Zealand on October 1 at the Holkar Stadium in Indore. On the other hand, England's campaign will get underway on October 3 against South Africa.
