The Yellowstone alum, 70, is making it clear he has no intention of stepping away from the industry just yet.
“I don’t have those things,” he explained. “I have that [bucket] list, [but] I don’t refer to it that way. But certainly my eyes and my enthusiasms are wide open and very big.”
His comments come amid the release of Horizon: An American Saga, a sprawling Western franchise that Costner not only stars in but also writes, directs, and finances. Chapter 1 premiered in June 2024, while Chapter 2 debuted earlier this year at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
When asked by AARP in 2019 about whether he ever thinks about retirement, Costner said, “I really feel like some of the great surprises I have are in front of me. As I play out the second half of my career, I’ve been doing a lot of writing, and there are projects I still want to do.”
He added, “My life is a lot more than movies. I just periodically pop up in them. In between, I’m living my other life.”
