(KRON) -- BART service between the Downtown Berkeley and Richmond stations has stopped Friday morning, the transit agency announced at 6:50 a.m. The service disruption is due to a “major medical emergency” near the North Berkeley BART station.
AC Transit is providing a bus bridge service between Richmond and Berkeley BART stations, according to BART.
Red Line service between Richmond and Millbrae has also stopped, according to a BART service advisory.
"Passengers traveling from Richmond should board a Berryessa train, transfer at MacArthur to a SFO/Millbrae train," the advisory stated. "Those traveling from Millbrae should board a SFO/Antioch train and transfer at 19th St to a Richmond train."
No further information was immediately available on the medical emergency. There is no estimated time to resume normal service.
