Wednesday horse racing tips
KEMPTON6.10: Miss Honey 5/4 (1.5pts) LINGFIELD3.00: Kitty Furnival 15/8 (1pt) HAMILTON7.00: Try Storm Cat 6/4 (1pt) Treble – 15/1 (0.5pt)Miss Honey
Too Darn Hot two-year-old ridden by William Buick for trainer John & Thady Gosden who have this Godolphin-owned filly with lots of potential.
The Gosdens are 1-1 this season when sending out a two-year-old on the all-weather and 1-7 on the turf.
It’s an interesting one to see them opt for Kempton which is often a great starter.
Appier
Will have to prove she has the same ability on the all-weather to the flat turf.
She hasn’t been seen on the turf since last summer but has in general improved since then with two wins on the AW and very consistent runs in defeat including two 2nd place finishes.
Appier runs in a first time visor and has attracted a bit of attention for that hoping it fixes his slow starts.
Despite losing plenty of lengths from a slow start over course and distance in May he only finished less than a length off the winner, Odin Legacy so could pose a real threat back today.
Try Storm Cat
Try Storm Cat finished behind Farough and Big Fun last time out, but just ahead of Lily Pearl – who went on to place a close third next time out when 4/6 favourite.
There was only half a length in that so it does confirm the potential she holds for trainer Richard Fahey.
Try Storm Cat hung right towards the finish and lost out on second place to Big Fun, but will certainly go better on just his second run of his career.
Better And Better is the big favourite though as he placed a neck second to Sands Of Spain on debut, despite being a 20/1 shot.
So he will need to improve over the step up in trip from 5f to 6f but he’s drifting quite considerably and the angle looks to be in favour of Try Storm Cat.
