NO KINGS! is a coordinated, national day of action in response to increasing authoritarian overreach from Trump and his allies. People across the country have witnessed the crackdown on free speech, the detention of residents for their political views, threats of deportation against American citizens, and flagrant defiance of the courts.
“Our Declaration of Independence was a bold NO to an actual king, a list of grievances directed directly at King George III, many of which are being mirrored now,” explains Janet Rosen, organizer for Indivisible Ukiah. “A criminal president is ignoring foundational American law and due process in his rush to destroy our government and institute his dictatorship. Our local action will emphasize the parallels between 1776 and 2025.”
June 14 is also Flag Day and falls in the heart of Pride Month. We welcome attendees to proudly wave their American flags and Rainbow flags. “The flag doesn’t belong to Donald Trump. It belongs to us,” Rosen adds. “We’re not just watching history happen. We’re making it.”
A core principle behind all Indivisible events is a commitment to nonviolence. We remind all participants to ignore provocations and help our Safety Team de-escalate by keeping clear space around any perceived problems.
