The three-time Pro Bowl tight end has not been deterred though, and is a huge fan favorite.
Now, he has moved into another sporting area for his latest venture.
Olsen appeared for the iconic Savannah Bananas when they came to Charlotte on Friday night.
The baseball team put on a spectacle for the sold out 74,000 crowd at the Bank of America Stadium.
And he was front and center of the action, getting a wild reception from his home supporters.
He came out to first base for the Bananas with two outs in the fourth inning.
However, he had little to do as their opponents The Party Animals didn’t hit towards him.
“Where’s my moment?” he asked.
However, Olsen did come to the rescue last week for the Bananas.
Heavy rain left the team without a field to practice on.
And he invited them to Charlotte Christian, where he serves as a coach.
The Bananas have been called the the Harlem Globetrotters of baseball.
They are selling out stadiums while traveling around the US.
