POLICE REPORTS
The following were compiled from reports prepared by the Ukiah Police Department. To anonymously report crime information, call 707-463-6205.
CAMPING VIOLATION: An officer contacted a person behaving suspiciously in the 100 block of East Standley Street at 4:06 a.m. June 5 and cited a 54-year-old Ukiah man for violating city camping codes.
CAMPERS: Caller in the 200 block of Norton Street reported at 8:53 a.m. June 5 that people were “camping in the common area.” An officer responded and reported that the people left upon request.
DISTURBANCE AT BUS STOP: Caller at the Ukiah library on North Main Street reported at 12:02 p.m. June 5 that a man was “harassing people at the bus stop.” An officer responded but the man had left before his arrival.
DRUNK IN PLAZA: Caller in the 300 block of South State Street reported at 2:58 p.m. June 5 that a drunk man was in the Alex R. Thomas Jr. Plaza. An officer responded and arrested a 40-year-old Ukiah man for being drunk in public. He was booked into county jail.
DISTURBANCE AT BUS STOP: Caller at a bus stop in the 500 block of East Perkins Street reported at 5:24 p.m. June 5 that a man was causing a disturbance at the bus stop. An officer responded and arrested Bobby R. Parks, 48, of Clearlake, on suspicion of violating his parole and possession of a controlled substance. He was booked into county jail.
VIDEO GAME CONSOLE STOLEN: Caller on Creekside Court reported at 9:52 p.m. June 5 that a PlayStation console had been stolen. An officer responded and took a report of a theft.
DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Talmage Road and Waugh Lane at 1:22 a.m. June 6 and arrested Jorge A. Rodriguez, 50, of Kelseyville, on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs and possession of both a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. He was booked into county jail.
SHOTS FIRED: Caller at the intersection of Mulberry Street and Observatory Avenue reported at 12:44 a.m. June 7 hearing shorts fired. An officer responded and arrested Raul M. Mandujano, 38, of Ukiah, on suspicion of attempted murder, using a firearm and assaulting a person with a firearm, and arrested a 34-year-old Redwood Valley woman and a 58-year-old Ukiah woman. All three were booked into county jail.
PEOPLE THROWING CART: Caller at the corner of Commerce Drive and Airport Park Boulevard reported at 1:21 p.m. June 7 that people were “throwing a cart in and out of the roadway.” An officer checked the area and reported that the people were gone.
PERSON GIVING WATER TO CAT THREATENED: Caller at the corner of Talmage Road and Cunningham Street reported at 1:35 p.m. June 7 that a man tried to hit them with a rock “for giving a stray cat fresh water,” and requested that the person be located and counseled. An officer checked the area and reported that the person was gone.
CAT ISSUES: Caller on Betty Street reported at 1:42 p.m. June 7 having “ongoing cat issues.” The information was taken for the Community Services Officers.
The following were compiled from reports prepared by the UPD regarding calls handled by the Fort Bragg Police Department.
TRESPASSING: Caller at a motel on South Main Street reported a trespasser at 8:16 a.m. June 5. An officer responded and arrested Arron M. Still, 44, of Fort Bragg, on suspicion of burglary, possession of burglary tools, vandalism, defrauding an innkeeper and possession of a controlled substance. He was booked into Mendocino County Jail.
DEER STUCK IN FENCE: Caller at the intersection of East Chestnut Street and South Sanderson Way reported at 12:52 p.m. June 5 that a deer was stuck in a fence. An officer responded but the animal was gone.
DUI: An officer stopped a vehicle at the intersection of West Cypress and Main streets at 11:22 p.m. June 6 and arrested Flora Grennburg, 25, no city of residence given, on suspicion of driving under the influence. The driver was cited and released and the vehicle towed.
Those arrested by law enforcement officers are innocent until proven guilty. People reported as having been arrested may contact the Daily Journal once their case has been concluded so the results can be reported. Those who feel the information is in error should contact the appropriate agency. In the case of those arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of an intoxicant, all DUI cases reported by law enforcement agencies are reported by the newspaper.
