The sequel to their hit 2019 RPG, the studio that gave us Fallout: New Vegas is back with their wild and wacky art nouveau jaunt through Halcyon.
When is The Outer Worlds 2 release date?
The Outer Wilds 2 will release on 29th October 2025.
It will mark the third and final release for Obsidian Entertainment in a busy year, following on from Avowed and Grounded 2.
The game may feature early access for players that pre-order the game, or indeed Xbox Game Pass subscribers, but this hasn't been announced yet.
Xbox players can purchase it from the Xbox store, as well as any PC players who prefer to buy directly from Xbox.
Lastly, PS5 players can pre-order the game directly from the PlayStation Store.
Which consoles and platforms can play The Outer Worlds 2?
The Outer Worlds 2 is set to drop on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC.
The first Outer Worlds was eventually ported to the Switch, but we imagine this one (if it get a Nintendo port at all) will be a Switch 2 affair.
View Green Video on the source websiteThe game takes place in a new colony, Arcadia, a dictatorship run by the authoritarian Protectorate faction.
There are a few gameplay changes to look forward to, but by far the biggest is a new Fallout-style perks system.
Another perk, Serial Killer, lets you collect the hearts of your enemies for a permanent health boost, but the more hearts you collect, the more insane you go – not your everyday RPG perks.
