Holliday was drafted in the seventh round of the 1998 MLB Draft.

He made his MLB debut in 2004 at 24 years old with the Rockies.

Holliday was instantly a star, and put together some incredible seasons.

Across his career, he was a seven-time All-Star, four-time Silver Slugger, NLCS MVP, batting champion, and World Series winner.

After retiring from baseball in 2018, his first son was drafted into MLB.

Jackson Holliday was the No. 1 pick in the 2022 MLB Draft to the Baltimore Orioles.

After a rough rookie season in 2024, he has started to show why he was the No. 1 pick.

In 52 games this season, Jackson is hitting .269 with seven home runs and 25 RBI.

He has a .759 OPS and already has accumulate more WAR this season (0.8) than in 2024 (0.1).

Jackson might not even be the best Holliday son though.

His brother, Ethan, is expected to go No. 1 in this year’s MLB Draft.

Ethan is 18 years old and plays short stop and third base.

He is committed to play college baseball at Oklahoma State, according to Perfect Game, but will likely decommit after being picked No. 1 overall.

Ethan’s senior year high school stats include 16 home runs, 51 RBIs, and a .617 batting average.

The Washington Nationals own the No. 1 pick this year, and are expected to take Ethan.

MLB fans are impressed with the Holliday family making their impact in baseball and shared their thoughts on social media.

“That’s insane! Two sons. Two first picks! WOW,” one fan said.

“Holliday gene pool is ridiculous,” a second fan said.

“Matt with the nervous dad leg. He’s done one helluva job raising those boys!” a third fan said.

“Having two of your sons go #1 in the draft is insane,” a fourth fan said.
