News by : (News10NBC) -

Rochester, N.Y. – Most of this Sunday the air quality index for Rochester has been in the range of 100 to 150 which is for particulate matter caused be smoke from the Canada wide fires.  This has added a haze to the normally sunny skies with some of this smoke reaching the surface.  As a result, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued an air quality advisory for fine particulates until midnight tonight.  Most people will not have any health issues, but folks with lung or heart problems along with older or very young residents should limit your outdoor exposure.  We do anticipate that conditions will improve for somewhat for Sunday.

Tonight, look for hazy skies with a low temperature in the middle 50s.  Sunday will feature partial sunshine with a high temperature in the middle to upper 70s.  There will be a increasing chance of a shower or thundershower by late Sunday afternoon and evening.
