Brooke Shields has plans to leave her jewelry behind — but only one of her daughters will be a benefactor.
Shields, 60, opened up about her jewelry collection — and which of her daughters value her pieces — while chatting with Only Natural Diamonds for a cover story published on Thursday, June 5. In the story, Shields gushed about her extensive collection, which features diamonds, pearls and more that she’s acquired throughout the years.
“My mom bought me my first emerald-cut diamond,” Shields said, reminiscing on her collection. “It’s very beautiful, and I got it set in a Verdura cuff.”

The actress added, “I’m very attached to jewelry and diamonds. That might sound obnoxious. Ever since I was a little girl, every time we’d go somewhere, we’d find a jewelry store — if we were in Asia, it was pearls; if we were elsewhere, it was diamonds or brooches.” As for who will inherit her jewelry someday? Shields already has a clear decision.

“My older daughter has lost every piece I’ve ever given her,” Shields laughed, mentioning Rowan, 22. “I literally cannot do it again,” she explained.

Shields went on to share that Grier “understands the difference between real and ‘real’” jewelry. “It’s not about the gold or diamonds alone — she sees the history, the workmanship, the story behind the institution of these houses,” the Mother of the Bride star elaborated.
Shields has the same mindset when it comes to high-end jewelry, and she has from a young age. “There’s a sense of empowerment in that,” she explained. “My mom always said, ‘Buy yourself your own diamond — don’t wait to be given one from a man.’”
