Lakhs of people were waiting to see a glimpse of their favourite stars after winning the title after 18 long years, but the chaos erupted in a tragic incident where 11 people lost their lives and over 30 people were injured during the celebration.
After the horrific scenes in Bengaluru, Manoj Tiwary expressed his condolences to the families who lost their loved ones in the stampede. Tiwariy asked for justice for the people who lost their lives and said there should be accountability in the wake of the tragedy.
"I felt very bad. There should be accountability. Whoever was responsible for organising it should have been a little proactive. And, I think there should have been an idea that lakhs of people would turn up to see RCB from close quarters. Because look, saying that we had no idea that so many people would come, it does not make sense. Before the IPL finals, we all knew that RCB have a tremendous fanbase all over the country," he said as quoted by Hindustan Times.
RCB faced criticism for the immediate planning of the victory parade and celebration. They can wait for some time to organise things properly for their celebration.
RCB should have organised a victory celebration after 1-2 days
Whereas, RCB hosted their celebration within 18-20 hours without proper arrangements and the help of the BCCI. KKR carefully planned the felicitation ceremony after two days of victory, but RCB planned their felicitation within 24 hours.
BCCI has no clue about celebration
IPL chairman Arun Dhumal revealed that BCCI has no idea about the celebration in Bengaluru, that's why there were no IPL officials at the gates of M. Chinnaswamy stadium.
Dhumal also revealed that the officials under the stadium were also unaware of the tragic incident which is occurring outside the stadium.
