Price turned professional in 2014 after swapping the rugby pitch for the oche.

He has since won seven PDC major titles including the World Championship at Alexandra Palace in 2021.

Although he has yet to add another world title since, the Iceman would not sacrifice his career for a second crown in the future.

Asked if he would take a guaranteed Ally Pally triumph if he had to retire immediately afterwards, Price told talkSPORT: “No, I’m sticking around for the next 10 years.

“I mean, one World Championship, it’s not good enough.”

Instead, Price plans to remain at the top of the sport for at least another decade.

As for what he envisions his career will look like in 10 years time, he added: “I would never give up totally but the Pro Tours and Europeans, depending on how many it’s going to be at that time because it’s getting more and more every year, but I’ll stop doing those.

“I would never give my Tour Card up. I’d still do events and if they invite me to the Premier League and World Series, I’ll still do them, but none of the lower events and just stop the travelling.”

Price has picked up three event wins on the World Series in his career, having reached eight finals at the invitational tournaments.

He is also fresh from his seventh Premier League appearance this year.

Following three nightly wins, the 40-year-old was beaten by Luke Littler on finals night at the O2 Arena last week.

Price’s attentions have now turned to winning another TV title later this month.

As well as his 2021 World Championship victory, he also has a World Grand Prix, three Grand Slams and two World Cup of Darts wins in his career.

A third World Cup triumph for Wales could be added next week in Frankfurt alongside Jonny Clayton.

The pairing, who have previously won the tournament in 2020 and 2023, are seeded second and will enter in the second round.

Price and Clayton were also beaten finalists at the event in 2022, losing to Australia’s Damon Heta and Simon Whitlock.

It came five years on from Price’s previous final defeat alongside Mark Webster.

The pair were defeated 3-1 by Dutch pair Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld in the 2017 final.
