Bet of the Day – Spain to beat France @ 13/10

Spain and France head for Stuttgart in an enticing Nations League semi-final and La Roja are fancied to come out on top.

The European champions controlled Group A4 of this competition, picking up 16 points in a section also containing Denmark, Serbia and Switzerland.

Luis de la Fuente’s men were made to work by the Netherlands in the quarter-finals. The Dutch boast a strong squad and coming through that two-legged test bodes well for the Iberians.

France were perhaps fortunate to top Group A2 after finishing level on points with Italy.

Les Bleus then needed a penalty shootout to get past Croatia in the quarter-finals after Didier Deschamps’ men were beaten 2-0 in the first leg in Split.

That feeds into the bad feeling after France’s tepid displays at Euro 2024, and while Les Bleus have bags of quality throughout their squad, they don’t appear to be a progressive side.

Spain have already been crowned European champions and La Roja still appear to be improving.

It’s 23 competitive matches without defeat within 90 minutes for De la Fuente’s squad and they look a great bet to beat France.

Longshot of the Day – Japan to win & over 3.5 goals v Australia @ 17/2

Japan have bossed Group C of the AFC World Cup qualifiers and Samurai Blue should have too much for Australia in Perth.

Hajime Moriyasu’s men have won six and drawn two of their eight qualification contests and a goal difference of +22 demonstrates their dominance.

Japan had to settle for a 1-1 draw against Australia in Saitama in October, but they won the shot count 12-1, corner count 9-0, had 65 per cent possession and were mighty unfortunate not to beat the Socceroos.

Australia tend to try and keep things tight but beat Indonesia 5-1 in their most recent home qualifier in March.

With a tough trip to automatic qualification rivals Saudi Arabia on the docket for their final Group C game, Tony Popovic may send his side out on the attack to limit the chance of any unwanted drama in Jeddah on Tuesday.

However, Japan’s attacking record shows that the draw in Saitama aside, they usually take their chances, and Moriyasu’s men could come out on the right side of an entertaining contest.

Special of the Day – Bet Builder – Qatar to beat Iran, Over 3.5 goals and Over 9.5 Corners @ 12/1

Qatar have conceded 21 goals in eight AFC World Cup qualifiers and the Maroons need points to be sure of a spot in the fourth round.

Having to chase the game against a good Iran side is not an ideal position to be in. However, there is a positive in that Iran have already qualified and may lack focus.

This looks like a golden opportunity for the Maroons to grab a much-needed victory but Iran have scored 14 goals in their last five games, a run which includes a 4-1 victory over Qatar.

It is difficult to see how this Doha clash doesn’t go over 3.5 goals and that prompts chances for goal-scoring opportunities, making the corner markets something to peruse.

Qatar alone average 9.36 corners per game in qualifying, so backing over 9.5 in the game looks sensible and only adds to this juicy bet builder.
