Billy Joel Absent From His Documentary Premiere After Revealing Rare Diagnosis ...Saudi Arabia

The notable absence comes days after the singer-songwriter canceled all his upcoming tour dates and revealed his diagnosis of a rare brain condition. Joel has normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH), which causes excess cerebrospinal fluid build up in the brain ventricles.

The condition has caused issues with Joel's hearing, vision, and balance, for which he is currently undergoing "specific" physical therapy. He is currently refraining from performances under advice from his doctor.

According to Warner Bros. Discovery, the two part series is "an expansive portrait of the life and music of Billy Joel, exploring the love, loss, and personal struggles that fuel his songwriting."

The two-part documentary will debut on HBO and will be available to stream on Max this summer.
