SAN MATEO – One person was injured when a large tree toppled to the ground Wednesday in San Mateo, police said.

The person was treated at the scene for non-life-threatening injuries, said Officer Andrew Peek.
Peek described the tree as “very large.”
South Railroad Avenue was closed between 9th and 10th avenues. Police also asked the public to avoid the areas of South B Street and South Claremont Street near South Railroad Avenue.
