By Chris Philbrick, Tournament Director
The 36th Annual Ukiah Golf Classic was another huge success this year with 13 teams in attendance from throughout Northern California.
Seventy-eight high school golfers and 13 coaches competed in what many coaches call their favorite tournament of the year.
Each team received a wonderful box lunch for each participant, water throughout the day, and a barbecue after the event. In addition, each golfer received an embroidered coin bag as a tee prize, a dozen Titleist ProV golf balls to the winners of the Long Drive and Closest to the Hole competition, medals to the low eight individual scores and to each member of the top three teams, and plaques went to the top three teams.
The on-going quality of this event could not be possible without the contributions of both time and money by so many generous donors and volunteers. I’d like to sincerely thank each of them as follows:
Contributors and donors
Schat’s Bakery for discounted box lunches
The Savings Bank of Mendocino County for hosting the post tournament barbecue.
Safeway for a gift card for water.
Thurston Auto Plaza for once again providing golf balls for the High School golf teams.
Financial support from Eversole Mortuary; the Ledford family; the Shimmin family; the Philbrick family; Mark Davis Insurance; Wipf Construction; Dorsey’s Auto Body; Team Insurance; Edward Jones (Brent Clausen); Ukiah Host Lions Club; Mendocino Physical Therapy; Mendocino Monuments; D & R Rentals; Frank Johnson and Ben Waterman for continuing their excellent support of this long standing event.
