Officials have found 15 people and one dog who were harmed in a Molotov cocktail attack on Pearl Street Mall on Sunday, according to the Boulder County District Attorney’s Office. Earlier counts included 12 human victims.
The victims’ ages range from 25 to 88. Eight victims are women, and seven victims are men, according to a release. The attack was directed at the Boulder chapter of Run for Their Lives during its weekly walk on the Mall to raise awareness of Israeli hostages held by the terrorist group Hamas.
The man accused of burning them, 45-year-old Mohamed Soliman, is scheduled for a formal filing of charges at 3:30 p.m. Thursday at the Boulder County Jail courthouse.
Soliman has been charged with a federal hate crime and is expected to receive a slew of charges by the state tomorrow, including attempted first-degree murder.
“We continue to work closely with our federal, state, and local partners in strong response to this horrific attack,” District Attorney Michael Dougherty wrote in the release. “We are united in our commitment to pursuing justice for all the victims, their many loved ones, and this community. We stand with the Jewish community and the people of Colorado against hate and terror.”
