Seven people were injured Monday afternoon after a Walsenburg police chase ended in a head-on crash on Interstate 25, according to the Colorado State Patrol.
Walsenburg police on Monday attempted to pull over a speeding Nissan Altima on northbound I-25, a car that state patrol troopers had also tried to pull over earlier that day, according to a news release from the Colorado State Patrol.
The Nissan driver refused to pull over and the Walsenburg police officer pursued, according to the release.
During that chase, the Nissan driver crossed the I-25 median and crashed head-on into a Dodge Durango driving on the southbound highway, state patrol officials said in the release.
