Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured a thrilling six-run victory at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday, June 3. The win sparked celebrations among RCB fans across the nation. At the winning moment, Virat Kohli was seen shedding tears when RCB came close to their maiden IPL trophy.
Kohli was the leading run-getter for RCB in the 2025 season. The right-handed batter scored 657 runs in 15 innings at an average of 54.75 and a strike rate of 144.71. He was the third-highest run-scorer in the tournament, behind Sai Sudharsan and Suryakumar Yadav.

Rajat Patidar received the IPL 2025 trophy from BCCI officials and joined his jubilant Royal Challengers Bengaluru teammates on the podium to begin the celebrations. The entire squad erupted in joy as Patidar, in his first season as captain, lifted the trophy.

Congress MP Shashi Tharoor praised Virat Kohli after RCB secured their first IPL title. Tharoor, who is currently in the United States leading a multi-party Indian parliamentary delegation to highlight the country’s zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism, shared his reaction after the final.
"Very happy for Virat Kohli that he 18 laid his hands on the trophy after 18 years of service! Congratulations," Mr Tharoor wrote on X, and posted pictures of him checking the score on his mobile phone inside the plane.
