Give Me a Word: The Collective Soul Story, a documentary focusing on the history of the band will be released on July 8 on video-on-demand, Blu-ray and DVD, the group announced in a post on Instagram.
“It’s finally here!!!” the band posted on Tuesday, June 3. “After years of stories, memories, and music—we’re proud to share something really personal with you: our first official documentary, Give Me a Word: The Collective Soul Story.”
Directed by Joseph Rubinstein and produced by Greg Richling and Jonathan Sheldon of Pfonetic, much of the film was shot in 2023 at the Palm Springs, Calif. estate that once belonged to Elvis Presley while the band was recording their latest album, Here to Eternity.
"What a ride, what a ride,” singer Ed Roland said in a statement. “So many things to say, so many songs to sing, and so many songs to write. To be with this band for over 30 years is such a blessing. Hopefully you see the love, the process, and the gratitude we have for our fans and where this life has placed us. Now let’s enjoy life, oh and this documentary!”
“What?! ??”We are the soundtracks to people’s lives.” This hits… I’m 36 now and have listened to y’all my whole life and have seen you live countless times in several locations. Cannot wait to watch this! ✌?,” one posted.
