The rosters for a revamped Orange County Softball Coaches Senior All-Star Classic on June 11 have been released.
The event at Deanna Manning Stadium in Irvine has shifted to a doubleheader format that will pit the North vs. South and the East vs. West.
The North-South game is scheduled for 4:30 p.m. with the East-West game to follow at 7 p.m. Both games will be six innings.
Game organizers stated the event shifted to the doubleheader format from a single game because of the “large numbers” of players nominated by their high school coaches.
“We had almost 100 nominees from about 40 schools,” game organizers stated in an email. “We felt it was appropriate to host a doubleheader this year, and that allowed us to include more all-stars.”
Admission to the PGF-sponsored event is $5 for adults. Children are free.
