A POPULAR restaurant has introduced a new promotion that could mean free food for diners.
The deal involves a time limit requirement and applies to a specific meal of the day.

It runs from 11 am to 3 pm local time and is available at most of Benihana’s nearly 100 locations nationwide, except for the restaurant on the Las Vegas Strip.
Benihana is known for its hibachi offerings, which are typically prepared quickly by chefs stationed at tables with customers.
The restaurant chain is banking on its quick service with the Power Lunch, as if it’s not served and eaten within 45 minutes, it’s free.
It’s specifically a “delicious hibachi meal within 45 minutes or lunch is on us,” according to a statement from the beloved chain.
The only catch is that customers must notify Benihana staff beforehand that they’re intending to have the Power Lunch to be eligible for the potential free meal.
Typically, Benihana’s chefs can take up to 90 minutes with customers as part of the experience.
The new 45-minute promotion is trying to attract customers who are coming in on a brief lunch break.
PREPARE TO PAY
Should the meal be served on time, it costs $15.95, including a main protein option of chicken, shrimp, or tofu.
Those who want filet mignon or NY strip can pay a little more at $19.95.
Some food insiders from Eater LA have dubbed it “a killer recession-era deal” for consumers, and predict Benihana will bring in considerably more business this summer.
“Benihana accelerating the pace of its performative meals seems to diminish, arguably the main reason you’d eat there … That said, these are challenging times for restaurants, and they’re scrounging for ways to boost revenue,” Eater wrote.
“Speed eating at Benihana reflects this.”
Customers continue to seek money-saving options at restaurants amid economic uncertainty.

Texas Roadhouse has caught some attention for its $12 steak dinner.
The offering is typically unavailable to most diners, but staffer Madi (@girlswillbegirlsyay) recently went viral for revealing the trick to get it in a video on TikTok.
Most adult customers would pass over the dinner because it’s in the Kids & Rangers Meal section, reserved for those 12 years old and under.
Madi said in the clip that the Texas Roadhouse location she works at typically “allows” adults to order from the kids’ menu anyway, but the best way to get the steak dinner would be to order it for pickup.
Included is a six-ounce steak, a side of either fries, mashed potatoes, butter corn, or steamed vegetables, and a free drink.
Bread and peanuts are also included at no cost.
For $12, that’s a decent amount of food for the price.
