Down to its final out in the Women’s College World Series, UCLA trailed Tennessee 4-2. Megan Grant then hit a 2-run home run to extend the game and keep the Bruins alive. It turned out the drama in Oklahoma City was only starting.
Replay showed that Grant did not touch home plate before celebrating with her teammates. It prompted a review and a lengthy delay of the game.

According to the officials, however, the play was not reviewable per “Appendix G” in the rulebook. The run was upheld, keeping it a 4-4 game. Had the call been overturned, Grant would have been ruled out, and Tennessee would have won the elimination game 4-3.
