DUBLIN, Ohio (WCMH) -- Five golfers are within five shots of the lead at Muirfield with world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler looking to make history.
Scheffler has a one-stroke lead heading into the final round of the Memorial after an impressive back nine performance on Saturday, where he hit birdies on four of the final five holes. A victory would make him the first golfer since Tiger Woods to win consecutive tournaments (1999-2001).
Paired with Scheffler is fellow American Ben Griffin, who is seeking back-to-back victories on the PGA Tour after winning the Charles Schwab Challenge last weekend. Griffin is in second after a bogey on the 18th hole, his fifth of the round despite shooting three consecutive birdies on the front nine. Scheffler and Griffin are set to tee off in the final pairing of the day at 2:05 p.m.
Nick Taylor, Sepp Straka, Keegan Bradley and Jordan Spieth are in striking distance as well, hoping to make a run at the top of the leaderboard on the tournament's final day.
