Manchester United have announced their agreement to sign Matheus Cunha from Wolves.
The forward is understood to be joining in a £62.5million deal after United triggered his release clause.
Cunha has become the first summer signing at UnitedGettyCunha has agreed to sign a five-year contract with the option for a further 12 months and will take the no.10 shirt at Old Trafford.
Marcus Rashford was the last man to have that number, signalling that he will likely make a permanent exit this summer.
His transfer will be officially completed once his visa and registration are finalised when he returns from international duty with Brazil.
“Manchester United has reached agreement with Wolverhampton Wanderers for the signing of Matheus Cunha,” a statement read.
“The Brazilian forward’s signing is subject to visa and registration.
“The 26 year-old has 13 senior caps for Brazil, and, in his club career, has made 270 appearances and scored 72 goals in the English, Spanish, German and Swiss top flights.
“During two-and-a-half seasons at Wolves, Cunha has scored 33 goals in 92 appearances.
“Everyone at Manchester United looks forward to welcoming Matheus to Old Trafford.”
Cunha began his senior career at Swiss side Sion before signing for RB Leipzig and then Hertha Berlin Germany.
The 26-year-old would later join Atletico Madrid in 2021, with a loan spell at Wolves coming in the second half of the 2022/23 season.
Cunha will wear the no.10 shirt at UnitedHis move was made permanent in the following summer for a reported fee worth around £35million.
Cunha has scored 33 goals in 92 appearances for Wolves, 17 of which have come in the 2024/25 season.
United will welcome a versatile player at Old Trafford as the Brazilian can play as a striker or attacking midfielder.
