Lucknow Super Giants pacer Mayank Yadav is all set to travel to New Zealand to consult medical specialists over his back injury. The injury-prone bowler made his comeback in April in IPL 2025 but lasted for two matches before he was ruled out. Mayank is all set to take the Jasprit Bumrah route as the latter was attended to by a New Zealand doctor back in 2022 when he was injured.
Mayank to follow Bumrah’s footsteps?
As per reports, Mayank will travel to New Zealand over the next few days to consult specialists. Yadav picked up 2 wickets in 2 matches in IPL 2025, averaging 50 before another back injury saw him ruled out of the remainder of the tournament. Mayank for retained for a massive Rs 11 Cr by LSG, and it remains to be seen, if he would be retained for the next season as well or not.

It spilt over to the next edition as well as he sat out owing to injuries. He made his dream debut for LSG in IPL 2024, grabbing eyeballs with his fiery deliveries and his ability to bowl them consistently.
In his very first IPL game, he was forced to walk off midway through the game due to an abdominal injury. He returned in the next game, only to walk off once again after bowling 3.1 overs. Yadav was then sidelined for the remainder of the tournament due to a side strain. After spending months at the NCA in Bengaluru, he made his T20I debut in IND vs BAN series, picking up two wickets. Subsequently, he sustained a back injury that saw him being ruled out not only for IND vs SA T20Is but for a long span of more than three months.
