Five other Wildcats also homered in the contest, including back-to-back deep shots in the seventh and another in the eighth to provide some insurance. Their eight home runs set a program record for a single game.
White’s third homer also marked the third solo shot by Arizona in the fourth inning, part of how the Wildcats roughed up Utah Valley starter Colton Kennedy for six earned runs in 3.1 innings.
Arizona starter Raul Garayzar allowed four runs over his three innings, including one unearned. He hit three batters and allowed four hits, as he surrendered the most runs of any Wildcat pitcher this NCAA Tournament so far.
Casey Hintz and Michael Hilker Jr. followed and steadied the ship, combining for six innings with Hilker, who earned the save, allowing the only Utah Valley hit of the stretch.
