FAST food giants are racing to lure in consumers’ wallets, and Wendy’s has just passed the pack with its tasty and affordable deal.
Time is running out for fast foodies to score the summer promotion, which tops both McDonald’s and Burger King’s popular meal deal offers.

The holiday honors the beloved hamburger – of which roughly 50 billion are served annually in the US – with many restaurants and fast food joints partaking by offering mouthwatering deals.
Wendy’s served up the savings on Wednesday by offering a Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger for just a penny with any purchase – and the fast food giant sweetened the deal even more by extending it for the rest of this week.
The summer steal is on the Wendy’s app through June 1, and customers have been raving over the recurring promo.
“Typical Wendy’s W,” said one fan, as another joked, “I’ll be buying about 40 of them.”
Wendy’s extended deal for National Hamburger Day is part of the chain’s 100 Days of Savings promotions.
In honor of National Hamburger Day, Wendy’s is offering an extended dealThe U.S. SunThe one cent burger was just the start of Wendy’s summer filled with savings, as the chain will be rolling out weekly deals in its mobile app.
For example, starting June 7, customers can score a Dave’s Single for $1 with any purchase every Saturday through July 26.
Other rival chains similarly took part in National Hamburger Day festivities with deals, including Burger King, Sonic, and Arby’s.
Burger King offered foodies a free hamburger with a purchase of $1 or more, and customers at the latter chains could get their hands on up to 25% off their orders under Grubhub’s four-week Gold Days of Grubhub+ promotion.
CHEAP EATS
Wendy’s one cent steal, only available for a few more days, is just one many tasty summer deals being offered as fast food chains fight for the top spot.
McDonald’s
For example, rival fast food giant McDonald’s is vying for consumers’ dollars with its popular $5 Meal Deal, launched in June 2024.
Originally scheduled to run for a limited time, the promo was extended multiple times due to its popularity.
McDonald’s promised fans that the meal combo would remain on the menu through December 2024, later adding it the chain’s new McValue menu.

Kentucky Fried Chicken
KFC, for example, came for McDonald’s with its $5 Chicken Tender Meal Deal, a digital exclusive available only on the KFC app or online.
The deal is a threat to not only the McDonald’s $5 Meal Deal, but also its new McCrispy Strips that launched May 5.
“This week, preTENDERS tried to be conTENDERS so KFC dropped a competitive digital exclusive offer on its Original Recipe Tenders,” KFC said in a statement to The Daily Meal.
“Why settle for a tender from a burger chain when you can get a deal on what we believe is the best tasting tender, from the OG of fried chicken?

Burger King
Burger King is also competing for inflation-weary fast foodies’ attention with its $5 Duos and $7 Trios.
Launched in January, the two combos allow foodies to mix and match menu items for an affordable meal.
They are currently set to run through the spring.

Burger King previously offered fans the $5 Your Way Meal last summer, which came with a Whopper Jr., Chicken Jr., or Bacon Cheeseburger, as well as fries, a four-piece chicken nuggets, and a drink.
The burger joint rolled out the combo deal on June 10, 2024, roughly two weeks before McDonald’s launched its $5 Meal Deal.
Jack in the Box
Known for its burgers, tacos, and breakfast sandwiches, Jack in the Box is offering foodies two cravable summer deals.
The chain fought its way onto the fast food deals scene with its Jack’s Munchies Under $4 Menu, a value menu featuring various food items priced under just $4.
The affordable menu includes items such as tacos, chicken nuggets, and a variety of burger and sandwich options.
It was launched last summer and is still available.
The chain also has its Jack’s Munchie Meals, a selection of larger, combo-style meals priced between $6 and $8.
The late-night menu offering includes a choice of entree, two sides, and a drink, available only from 9 pm to 5 am.
