Outlook: This is an all-Trinity League championship game. The teams played each other in a three-game league series April 8-11. St. John Bosco won two of the three games. Santa Margarita won the first game 10-5, and the Braves won the next two, 5-3 and 6-1. St. John Bosco won the league championship with a 14-1 league record. Santa Margarita finished third with a 7-8 league record. Santa Margarita is 2-2 in CIF-SS baseball championship games. The Eagles’ most recent final was in 2023 when they lost to Trinity League rival JSerra in eight innings. Santa Margarita junior catcher Warren Gravely IV, a Notre Dame signee, has been a hot hitter during the playoffs, going 6 for 12 with five RBIs. Senior outfielder Ben Finnegan is 5 for 12 in the playoffs with five RBIs and three runs scored. Senior right-hander Brennan Bauer was credited with the win in all four of Santa Margarita’s playoff wins, having allowed only one earned run in 17.1 playoff innings. Santa Margarita coach Chris Malec is 20-5 in playoff games (CIF-SS and CIF Southern California Regional games). St. John Bosco played in a CIF-SS baseball championship game for the first time last year when it lost to Beckman 2-1 in the Division 3 final. The Braves beat national No. 1 Corona 2-0 in the semifinals on Friday. Junior shortstop James Clark is batting .394 with 39 hits including 10 doubles. Junior third baseman Noah Everly is batting .347 with a team-leading 26 RBIs. Junior right-hander Gavin Cervantes is 7-0 with a 1.08 ERA. Braves left-hander Trevor Heishman has 79 strikeouts in 53 innings. St. John Bosco is the home team. Both teams have qualified for the CIF Southern California Regional playoffs that begin Tuesday.

Outlook: Mater Dei is 3-1 in CIF-SS championship baseball games. This is its first championship game appearance since 2010. The Monarchs finished last in the Trinity League with a 4-11 league record before rolling through the playoffs. They had a 5-4 comeback win over Fountain Valley in the semifinals. Mater Dei senior right-handed pitcher Brandon Thomas, who signed with Fresno State, is 6-4 with a 0.87 ERA and is second on the team in hits with 27. He is the likely starting pitcher for the Monarchs. Sophomore third baseman Sebastian Navarro, usually Mater Dei’s leadoff batter, is hitting .362 with a team-high 34 hits in 31 games. Junior center fielder Ezekiel Lara and senior second baseman Dylan Wetzel have 18 RBIs each. West Ranch of Valencia is in its first CIF-SS baseball championship game. The Wildcats won the championship of the Foothill League. Senior right-hander Hunter Manning, who signed with UC Irvine, pitched a no-hitter in a 10-0 win over Sultana in the quarterfinals. Manning is 9-0 with a 0.82 ERA and 106 strikeouts in 68.2 innings. Wildcats junior shortstop Ty Diaz is batting .392 with 40 hits. Senior left fielder Mikey Murr has team highs of six home runs and 31 RBIs. Mater Dei is the home team. Both teams are eligible for the CIF Southern California Regional playoffs that begin Tuesday.

Outlook: Marshall is in its second CIF-SS baseball championship game. The Eagles lost in the Division 7 final in 2019. Marshall finished second to South El Monte in the Mission Valley League with a 10-2 league record. Marshall senior Trevor Lain is batting .390 with 21 RBIs. Nate Callaway also has 21 RBIs. Senior pitcher Caleb Thatcher has 92 strikeouts in 56.2 innings. Estancia finished second to Century in the Coast League with a 7-5 league record. Estancia senior catcher Sawyer Atkinson is batting .418 with team highs of 38 hits and 25 RBIs. Junior pitcher/third baseman Nico Viramontes is 7-0 with a 2.38 ERA and is batting .361 with 22 RBIs. Senior pitcher Vaughn McCrea has a team-leading 43 strikeouts. Estancia is the home team. Both teams qualified for the CIF Southern California Regional playoffs that begin Tuesday.
