Austin’s American Eatery in downtown Greeley is again open after a gas leak closed the restaurant last Friday. The restaurant reopened at 5 p.m. Thursday after the nearly seven-day closure.
“We’re grateful to team at the Shelby, RK Mechanical, the city of Greeley and all those involved in helping resolve the issue in a safe and timely manner,” Chief Operating Officer of parent company Hot Corner Concepts Adam Vander Sande said Thursday afternoon. “Please come on down and join us in our reopening.”
Vander Sande would not go into detail about the exact reason for the closure — citing a lack of technical understanding of the issue — but said the nature of the repairs required the extended closure for safety reasons.
Austin’s — known for its upscale take on comfort food — opened at 1100 8th Ave., Suite 100 in Greeley in November 2022.
Hot Corner Concepts owns a handful of other restaurants in Fort Collins, including the other two Austin’s locations, Big Al’s Burgers & Dogs, Comet Chicken and the Moot House.
The Shelby Apartments, which occupy the same building, could not be immediately reached for comment Thursday afternoon.
