One shopper wrote: “Novelty Lights £4.99 In-Store At Aldi,” prompting a flood of responses.

“I will have to run there tomorrow,” said one eager fan.

Another replied: “Why have I not been yet,” while many others tagged friends to spread the word.

Another post in the same group revealed a second hot find: “Hot Air Balloon Solar Lights £7.99 From Aldi.”

Fans once again flocked to the comments, tagging their friends and praising the budget-friendly garden must-haves.

The deals have been spotted in Aldi stores nationwide, with shoppers in cities like Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham reporting successful finds.

Both sets of lights are solar-powered, meaning there’s no need for wires or electricity – just pop them in the ground and let the sun do the rest.

The hot air balloon lights are proving especially popular thanks to their unique design and warm flame-effect glow, which adds a magical touch to gardens after dark.

Many shoppers are stocking up ahead of summer BBQs, parties and evening get-togethers, using the lights to create a cosy, welcoming atmosphere in their outdoor spaces.

And with similar lights from other retailers often costing double or more, Aldi’s versions are a clear hit with those wanting to spruce up their gardens on a budget.

Shoppers are being urged to act fast, as items like these are often part of Aldi’s Specialbuys and once they’re gone, they’re gone.

This latest garden bargain follows a wave of excitement at other budget retailers, including Home Bargains, which recently released a fresh range of solar lights starting at £5.99.

Meanwhile, stores like B&M, Argos, Wilko and Dunelm have also rolled out major discounts on garden furniture, patio sets and summer décor.

How to bag a bargain

SUN Savers Editor Lana Clements explains how to find a cut-price item and bag a bargain…

Sign up to loyalty schemes of the brands that you regularly shop with.

Big names regularly offer discounts or special lower prices for members, among other perks.

Sales are when you can pick up a real steal.

Retailers usually have periodic promotions that tie into payday at the end of the month or Bank Holiday weekends, so keep a lookout and shop when these deals are on.

Sign up to mailing lists and you’ll also be first to know of special offers. It can be worth following retailers on social media too.

When buying online, always do a search for money off codes or vouchers that you can use vouchercodes.co.uk and myvouchercodes.co.uk are just two sites that round up promotions by retailer.

Scanner apps are useful to have on your phone. Trolley.co.uk app has a scanner that you can use to compare prices on branded items when out shopping.

Bargain hunters can also use B&M’s scanner in the app to find discounts in-store before staff have marked them out.

And always check if you can get cashback before paying which in effect means you’ll get some of your money back or a discount on the item.
