Pardoned Todd Chrisley's Son Kyle Hopes for Reconciliation With Family ...Middle East

News by : (Us magazine) -

Todd Chrisley’s son Kyle is hoping for a family reconciliation following President Donald Trump’s decision to pardon his dad and stepmom, Julie.

“I’m ecstatic. Truly. I just found out a little bit ago and I still just can’t believe it,” Kyle, 33, told E! News in a Tuesday, May 27, statement.

Kyle, Todd’s son from his first marriage to ex-wife Teresa Terry, is hopeful that now that the couple are free, he will be able to reconnect with his family after previously admitting that he hadn’t spoken to his dad in over a year.

“I know they can’t wait to get home and just be with family, and I’m going to remain hopeful that another reconciliation is possible,” Kyle said.

Kyle also praised his sister, Savannah, 27, who has advocated for her parents’ freedom from federal prison. In June 2022, Todd, 56, and Julie, 52, were convicted of bank fraud and tax evasion. (The couple pleaded not guilty during their 2022 trial.)

“I know Savannah had been working at this for so long and she never gave up. So I’m just grateful to her and to President Trump for making this happen for my dad and Julie,” he said.

Kyle detailed his estrangement from his father in an interview with InTouch in June 2024.

“I don’t really know why, but he hasn’t responded to my emails and he doesn’t call,” he said. “I was actually going to attend the [appeal] hearing, but I was told my dad did not want me there. I believe someone even said they would have me ‘escorted out’ if I showed up.”

However, the following month, Savannah defended her dad’s decision to cut ties with his eldest son.

“My dad has every reason not to speak to Kyle. Just because it’s your child doesn’t mean that you have to accept abuse,” she said on her “Unlocked” podcast, per People. “It doesn’t mean you have to accept manipulation and hate and all these things.”

“What I don’t process well is having Kyle play the victim to life circumstances he’s created. What I don’t do well with someone who has abused people his entire life now trying to play victim, trying to get people to feel bad for him,” Savannah continued. “Yes, my father has not spoken to him and that is because now, we are all at a place where we don’t have to be abused any further. We are allowed to create boundaries for ourselves.”

On Tuesday, Trump officially pardoned Todd and Julie nearly three years after they were found guilty of bank fraud and tax evasion. The president delivered the news to Savannah via a phone call.

“It’s a terrible thing but it’s a great thing, because your parents are going to be free and clean,” Trump said to Savannah per a clip shared via X. “I hope we can do it by tomorrow. I don’t know them, but give them my regards. Wish them a good life.”

As well as Savannah, the former Chrisley Knows Best stars share sons Chase, 28, and Grayson, 19, and are also the adoptive parents of Kyle’s biological daughter, Chloe, 12. (Todd and ex-wife Teresa share a daughter, Lindsie, 35, in addition to Kyle.)
