A man was arrested on a pair of felony menacing charges after police say he threatened another driver with a baseball bat Saturday afternoon near 47th Avenue in Evans.

On Saturday afternoon, Evans police responded to a road rage incident near Florence Avenue and Palermo Avenue, according to a department Facebook post.

A woman told police a man brake checked her before following her for several blocks. When the two vehicles stopped, the man got out of his car with his hands behind his back — leading the woman to believe he had gun, according to the release.

The man then went to the trunk of his vehicle, grabbed a baseball bat and threatened her, she told police.

As the man left the scene, police say the woman took a picture of the man and his license plate — leading to another Evans officer recognizing the man from previous interactions.

Police tracked the him to the 2300 block of Mission Springs Lane, where they arrested him and took him into custody without incident, according to the post. Police say they found two baseball bats when they searched the man’s vehicle.

He was booked into the Weld Jail just after 6 p.m., arrest records show. He faces two counts each of felony menacing and reckless driving, according to Evans police.
