As the SEC Tournament enters the semifinal round in Hoover, the NCAA Tournament field is starting to solidify.
Following a 4-3 loss to LSU in the quarters on Friday night, Texas A&M’s run appears to be officially over. In the latest bracket projection from Baseball America, the Aggies were included in the “next 4 out” category, well below the cut line. Had Texas A&M beaten LSU, it would have garnered consideration for an at-large bid. Instead, things look bleak for the Aggies.
On the other end of the bracket, Ole Miss looks to have secured itself a hosting position after beating Arkansas to make the SEC Tournament semis. Baseball America moved the Rebels up from a 2-seed on Friday to the 16th overall seed, displacing Georgia Tech.
In total, 13 SEC teams are projected to make the Field of 64. That includes 8 teams in a position to host.
