Tornado touches down on Colorado’s Eastern Plains ...Middle East

A tornado touched down on Colorado’s Eastern Plains on Friday night as severe thunderstorms threatened large hail and high winds across the region, National Weather Service forecasters said.

The tornado was confirmed north of Akron in Washington County, NWS forecasters in Boulder said in a post on X.

Tornado warnings for the area expired at 6:30 p.m. and severe thunderstorm warnings are in effect until 7:15 p.m.

Information about tornado damage was not immediately available.

The storm comes less than a week after four tornadoes touched down in eastern Colorado on Sunday, damaging and destroying dozens of buildings and homes.
