Ronda Rousey made history in the main event of UFC 184Getty But those in attendance snatched the headlines tooZuffa LLC via Getty ImagesUFC 184 in March 2015 witnessed Ronda Rousey create history by submitting Cat Zingano in 14 seconds.
It was the fastest finish in a UFC title fight and the joint-fastest stoppage of any bout in the organisation’s history.
The victory surpassed Andrei Arlovski’s knockout of Paul Buentello after 15 seconds in a heavyweight title bout at UFC 55 in 2005.
As well as this, two women’s fights headlined a pay-per-view event for the first time in UFC history as Holly Holm made her debut by defeating Raquel Pennington in the co-main event.
However, it wasn’t just the records and Rousey’s remarkable victory that had MMA fans talking.
Those in attendance at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, California, were stunned when a host of celebrities, including the most recognises faces in the sport, where spotted on the big screens and on the broadcast throughout the night.
Jon Jones was the UFC light heavyweight champion at the time, having just defeated Daniel Cormier in his eighth defence of the belt.
Jones was in the company of American singer and lead vocalist of the Red Hot Chili Peppers Anthony Kiedis, alongside Vin Diesel, who had just wrapped up recording Furious 7 in the same year he starred in The Last Witch Hunter.
‘Bones’ is now the UFC heavyweight champion, with Briton Tom Aspinall anxiously awaiting for a crack at his title.
Brock Lesnar was also spotted in the crowd at UFC 184.

Lesnar had left the promotion four years prior, but was rumoured to be making a return for UFC 200.
At the time, he was arguably WWE‘s most famous superstar, having ending the iconic WrestleMania streak of The Undertaker in April 2014.
The year also witnessed Lesnar defeat John Cena at Royal Rumble, and go back and forth with ‘Taker’ in New York in the main event of WWE’s Summerslam.
Then, after initially revealing he was ‘closing the door on MMA,’ Lesnar made an iconic return to the UFC.
The WWE said it had granted Lesnar ‘a one-off opportunity,’ before he returned to fight at Summerslam.
He fought Mark Hunt at UFC 200 in July 2016, beating the New Zealander via unanimous decision.

Conor McGregor was also there in the flesh for UFC 184, alongside his fiancee Dee Devlin.
McGregor was also at the peak of his powers at the time, as the event came just four months after he knocked out Chad Mendes to become the UFC interim featherweight champion.
Rousey had set the record for the quickest finish in a UFC title fight ever, but, less than 10 months later, McGregor broke it again.
