Texas A&M will be without star outfielder Jace LaViolette as it tries to stay alive in the SEC Baseball Tournament against Auburn.
LaViolette was hit by a pitch in the top of the 5th inning of A&M’s second-round game. He initially took his base before signaling to the dugout that he needed to exit the game.

In 2025, LaViolette is slashing .259/.431/.585. In 54 games, he has 50 hits with 18 home runs and 59 RBIs. LaViolette hit a grand slam in the Aggies’ opening-round win over Mississippi State on Tuesday.
In the top of the 6th inning, the SEC Network broadcast stated that LaViolette remained absent from the Texas A&M dugout, noting that there is an X-ray machine inside the Hoover Met.
The LaViolette injury is the latest blow for A&M in a season that has not gone as planned. After an 11-19 showing in SEC play, the Aggies likely need a deep run in the SEC Tournament to make the NCAA Tournament.
