JIM Irsay sent a message to fans on social media – hours before his death was announced.
The Indianapolis Colts owner died at age 65, it was announced Wednesday afternoon.

No other details were given on his death, but Irsay had battled health problems in recent years.
On Wednesday morning, what proved to be the final tweet sent from his account was posted.
Irsay’s message on X sent a rallying cry to fans ahead of an NBA playoffs series.
The Indiana Pacers took on the New York Knicks in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals on Wednesday night.
Earlier in the day, Irsay’s tweet read, “Go PACERS. Good luck to Herb, the entire Pacers organization and our city.”
The tweet gained traction in the hours after Irsay’s death was announced.
And the Pacers pulled off a thrilling overtime win over the Knicks at Madison Square Garden.
One fan said, “Did it for Irsay. This is special.”
Another posted, “Rest in peace, Jim.
“You did great things for our city and state. And everything you did, you did with gusto and optimism.”
And a third said, “RIP, Jim. Thank you for all the great times and memories.”
Irsay took control of the Indianapolis Colts in 1997 following the death of his father, Robert Irsay, who bought the team in 1972 for $12 million.
“We are devastated to announce our beloved Owner & CEO, Jim Irsay, passed away peacefully in his sleep this afternoon,” the Colts said in a statement.
“Jim’s dedication and passion for the Indianapolis Colts in addition to his generosity, commitment to the community, and most importantly, his love for his family were unsurpassed.
“Our deepest sympathies go to his daughters, Carlie Irsay-Gordon, Casey Foyt, Kalen Jackson, and his entire family as we grieve with them.
“Jim’s love and appreciation for the NFL in addition to its history, tradition, and principles influenced him to become a steward of the game throughout his 50-plus years in the League.
“Jim will be deeply missed by his family, the Colts organization, and fans everywhere, but we remain inspired by his caring and unique spirit.”
The Colts won their second Super Bowl title in 2006, led by Peyton Manning at quarterback.
NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said: “We were deeply saddened to learn of Jim Irsay’s passing today.
“Jim was a friend, and a man deeply committed to his family, the game, the Colts, and the Indianapolis community.
“On behalf of the entire NFL, I extend my heartfelt condolences to Jim’s daughters and their families, and to his many friends throughout the NFL.”
