The Spring Bank holiday means banks, schools, some government offices and businesses will be shut on Monday as people are given an extra day of holiday.

But if you are planning on getting groceries ready for the weekend, it is important to note that some supermarkets will have slightly altered opening hours across the three-day weekend.

Aldi

Saturday 24 May – 8am-10pm Sunday 25 May – 10am-4pm Monday 26 May – 8am-8pm

Saturday 24 May – Most larger stores are open 7am-10pm Sunday 25 May – Most larger stores are open 11am-5pm Monday 26 May – Most larger stores are open 8am-10pm

Co-op

Co-op is predominantly a convenience store operator and all shops will open as usual over the late May bank holiday, although there may be some local variation.

Saturday 24 May – 7am-10pm Sunday 25 May – 7am-10pm Monday 26 May – 7am-10pm

M&S Foodhall

Saturday 24 May – 8am-8pm Sunday 25 May – 11am-5pm or 12pm-6pm Monday 26 May – 8am-8pm

Saturday 24 May – Most larger stores 7am-10pm Sunday 25 May – 10am-4pm or 11am-5pm Monday 26 May – Most larger stores will be open 7am-8pm

Saturday 24 May – Most stores open 7am-10pm Sunday 25 May – Most stores open 11am-5pm Monday 26 May – The vast majority of supermarkets will be open 8am-8pm. Convenience stores will be open from 7am-11pm.

Tesco

Saturday 24 May – Stores open as normal Sunday 25 May – Most stores open 11am-5pm Monday 26 May – Majority of large stores across England, Wales and Isle of Man will be open from 8am-6pm. The majority of large stores in Scotland will be open from 8am-8pm and in Northern Ireland from 8am – 6pm. Large Express stores will be open from 8am-6pm.

Waitrose

Saturday 24 May – Most stores will be open 8am-10pm Sunday 25 May – Most stores will be open 11am-5pm or 12pm-6pm Monday 26 May – Some Waitrose stores will trade with slightly different hours. Some Little Waitrose shops will be open from 7am-10pm.
