DENVER (KDVR) — Denver boasts about its 300 days of sunshine and mountain skyline, but a new study found many other Colorado cities were considered better places to live.
U.S. News and World Report released its annual list of "Best Places to Live in the U.S." in 2025-26. The study used factors, including quality of life, crime rates, unemployment rates, housing affordability and whether people are moving in or out of the city, to determine the top 250 cities.

No. 154 - Centennial
Centennial was listed as the 154th best city to live in, with an overall score of 6.1 out of 10.
The report said Centennial has a higher value of living compared to similar cities, as the median home value is $612,610, much higher than the national average of $370,489. If you're renting, the median monthly rent is $1,713.
The median household income for Centennial is $133,468.
However, if you're driving to work, the commute is higher than the national average. Getting to work from Centennial takes an average of 22 minutes.
No. 192 - Parker
Parker was placed on the list with a score of 5.9 out of 10, with a higher cost of living in some areas, a median home value of $580,868 and a median monthly rent of $1,817. There are lower home values than in Centennial, with Parker landing a median home value of $580,868.
The median household income is higher than in Centennial, with a household income of $138,680.
Denver rent prices trending down compared to nearby cities, state overall: ReportThe commute is about the same, averaging 23 minutes.
While only two cities made the list for the best in the nation, the report also provided the best cities to live in Colorado based on the same factors.
Best places to live in Colorado
Centennial Parker Castle Rock Arvada Littleton Grand Junction Colorado Springs Fort Collins Thornton LovelandDenver was among the list of best places to live in Colorado, but it was placed at No. 15, below Commerce City and Grand Junction, and just above Boulder and Aurora, all of which made the list of top places to live in Colorado.
Johns Creek in Georgia and Carmel, Indiana, were listed as the top places to live in the country.
