RAPPER Rod Wave has been arrested on assault and gun charges after he announced he was taking a break from music.
The Florida artist, whose real name is Rodarius Green, was booked into jail on May 20.

Green, 26, has been slapped with an assault charge and is accused of pointing a gun or pistol at another person.
He also faces charges of reckless conduct as well as criminal damage to property in the second degree.
The hip-hop star has been accused of showing reckless conduct and allegedly conspired to commit a felony.
Cops have not released the details about the incident that led to the star’s arrest.
He was released from jail on bond on Tuesday, the same day he was booked.
A few months ago, the rapper announced he was taking a hiatus from music.
He postponed his show in Nashville in January 2025, an hour before he was set to perform.
“To all my real fans, thank you. I love you, and I hope you finally heal from everything we’ve been through,” he posted on social media.
“To everyone else dragging my name, constantly bashing me, and speaking on things that make me happy—I don’t mess with you.
“To the real fans, this isn’t goodbye. It’s just see you later. Keep your head up. As long as you have music, you’re not alone.”
This is not his first run-in with the law.

In 2022, Green was accused of choking his ex-girlfriend at a Florida home, as reported by The Tampa Bay Times.
He allegedly strangled her until she couldn’t breathe and claimed she was talking to other men.
She told cops that she and Green had dated for four years before the altercation happened.
And, a police report, seen by The Tampa Bay Times, revealed the woman had a scratch on her neck.
Green was hit with a charge of domestic battery but it was later dropped.
Last year, he was arrested on possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, as reported by TMZ.
But his lawyers told the outlet the charge was incorrect.
“He is not a convicted felon and has never been a convicted felon,” Bradford Cohen and Mark Rankin told the outlet.
Green has not commented on the arrest.
During his music career, he released six studio albums – the most recent being Last Lap in 2024.
He’s best known for his songs Street Runner, Tobstone, and 25.
He recently contributed to the soundtrack for the hit movie Singers, on which he had the lead single with the movie’s name.
In 2021, he was nominated as Top New Artist for that year’s Billboard Awards.
He was also nominated for iHeartRadio’s best new hip-hop artist in the same year.
The U.S. Sun has approached Green’s lawyers and the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office for comment.
