SHAQUILLE O’NEAL has added fuel to the NBA rigged conspiracy theories by citing a personal example.
The basketball legend was a No. 1 overall pick and went on to dominate his sport.

And O’Neal recalled running into commissioner David Stern in the lead up to the draft.
“I meet Mr. Stern in March,” O’Neal told interviewer Ashley Nevel.
“He says to me, ‘Hey I know who you are, can’t wait for you to come to the NBA.’
“Then he pulls me to the side and asks, ‘Do you want to play where it’s cold or where it’s hot?’
“I was like, ‘Hot,’ and he smiled and I smiled.
“A couple days later they had the draft lottery.
“The top three teams – Minnesota was No. 3, then Charlotte was No. 2 and then Orlando, Florida, was No. 1.”
O’Neal was drafted by the Magic and spent his first four seasons there.
Shaq went on to win four NBA titles at the Los Angeles Lakers and Miami Heat.
He is regarded as one of the most dominant centers the NBA has ever seen.
O’Neal has become a media star on TNT’s coverage of the league.
And he was highly critical of the Dallas Mavericks’ decision to trade Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers in February.
The Mavs then landed the No. 1 overall pick in this year’s draft.

“I didn’t think anything about it,” Shaq said of the conspiracy theory.
“But you hear a lot of these conspiracy theories and there’s a lot of situations that could make these things sound good and sound true.
“Like OK, Dallas gets rid of one of the best players but, ‘Oh we’re getting a new one, ding ding ding ding ding!”
