NFL icon Kurt Warner shared his true feelings on Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders.
The NFL Hall of Fame quarterback opened up about Sanders’ stunning slide to the fifth round of the NFL Draft last month.

The son of NFL legend Deion Sanders wasn’t even the first rookie quarterback taken by the Browns, who selected Dillion Gabriel in the third round.
The legendary two-time NFL MVP Warner revealed his high praise of Sanders during an appearance on the Jim Rome show.
“My evaluation was [he’s] the most accurate quarterback, I thought, in this draft,” Warner said.
“When he sets his feet, when he’s comfortable in the pocket and he delivers the football, the ball goes where he wants it to go.”
Warner did admit that Sanders, like every quarterback prospect, has certain flaws he needs to work on in the NFL.
Still, based on his analysis during the pre-draft process, the NFL Network analyst thinks Sanders has what it takes to be a contributor at the next level.
“I really like Shedeur, he wasn’t a fifth-round prospect in my opinion,” Warner shared.
“I’m going solely off of tape.
“What I know off of tape, I thought he put some really, really good things on tape and I’m excited to see how this Cleveland quarterback room plays out.
Sanders is part of a crowded Browns quarterback room that consists of Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Deshaun Watson and Gabriel.
Watson will unlikely be on the team’s roster as he’s expected to be out for the 2025 season as he re-ruptured his right Achilles tendon.
Sanders will compete for a roster spot this summer as he’s playing under a rookie contract that’s worth $4.6 million over four years.
The 23-year-old spoke about what he hopes to accomplish with the Browns.
“I feel like the Browns fans they just want something to hope for and they’ve been wanting it for so long and long,” Sanders said to the team website.

The Browns’ last playoff win came in the 2020 season.
They are coming off a disappointing 3-14 finish in 2024.
