An 8-year-old suffering from a rare kidney disease had his dream come true with the help of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Make-A-Wish Arizona.
Ben Willis’ wish to meet Diamondbacks All-Star Ketel Marte was granted on Friday ahead of the Diamondbacks’ 8-0 win over the Colorado Rockies.
Willis had the opportunity to spend the day at Chase Field and hang out with Marte, his favorite player.

Not only did Willis get to throw out the first pitch, but he spent the day as an honorary Arizona Diamondbacks player. He had the chance to meet players during batting practice, received a dugout tour and ended the day with front-row seats for him and his family behind the on-deck circle.
Willis plays baseball in the Miracle League of Arizona, a league designed for children of all abilities. He also enjoys dressing up like his favorite Diamondback players at the team’s games.
