'70s Rock Legends Shock Fans by Joining 'Shinedown' on Stage in Daytona ...Saudi Arabia

As they started to kick off a cover of 1970s rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Free Bird," Shinedown frontman Brent Smith suddenly stopped and said, "Something doesn't feel too right... feels a little off. I mean, we are in Florida..." Another band member continued, "Our band started in Florida, and there's another band from Florida too." Smith then said, "The greatest American rock band on the planet. You may have heard of them. They're called Lynyrd Skynyrd. Ever heard of them? Ladies and gentlemen, we would like you to say hello to Mr. Rickey Medlocke and Mr. Johnny Van Zant. Needless to say, the crowd went wild.

People couldn't believe it! "Oh my God... Oh my God... no f***in' way!"

One person said, "Bawling and I'm not even there." Another added, "Nooo! How could I have missed this?"

Johnny Van Zant is the brother of original vocalist Ronnie Van Zant, who died in a plane crash in 1977. He didn't actually join the band until 1987, but he's helped keep the legendary sound alive through the decades.
