Putin invites leaders to Russian-Arab Summit ...Iraq

In a messageto participants of the 34th Arab League Summit in Baghdad, Putin addressed theongoing war in Gaza, describing the moment as “difficult,” and warning that theconflict has “dramatically aggravated tensions” and worsened social andeconomic conditions across the region.

ReaffirmingMoscow’s stance, the Russian president said all regional disputes must beresolved through political means “based on international law” and with fullrespect for the “sovereignty and territorial integrity” of states.

Putin alsoinvited Arab League leaders and the Secretary-General, Ahmad Aboul Gheit, toattend the first Russian-Arab Summit, scheduled for October 15, expressing hopethat the meeting would strengthen “mutually beneficial cooperation” andcontribute to lasting peace in the region.
