If you’ve been itching to put on your dancing shoes, the Best of the Week can give you a reason to dig them out of your closet this weekend.
If you don’t have dancing fever, fear not. Other local events on tap include an art show, a Greeley Stampede party, comedy and more.
Saturday
The Greeley Stampede hosts a Parking Lot Party from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at King Soopers, 6922 W. 10th St., Greeley. This free event features prizes, chances to win Stampede tickets and community fun.
Saturday Night Fever Dance is from 5-7 p.m. at the Greeley Active Adult Center, 1010 6th St. Tickets are $15 and can be purchased at tinyurl.com/3ffks63n.
The Greeley Philharmonic Orchestra takes the stage for “A Human Experience” from 7-9 p.m. at the Union Colony Civic Center, 701 10th Ave., Greeley. The music explores life through Mozart’s “Cosí fan tutte Overture”, Anna Clyne’s jovial “Masquerade” and Rachmaninoff’s “Symphonic Dances.” Tickets start at $42. The Rush Event Center hosts Rush Hour comedy starting at 8 p.m. at the event center, 1112 40th St., Evans. Nancy Norton, Jeff Koehn, Joe Huisman, Elliot Weber and Catherine Shea are the comedians. Tickets are $15 online at therusheventcenter.com and $20 at the door.
Sunday
“A Taste of Ireland” takes the stage at 7:30 p.m. at the Union Colony Civic Center. The show features world Irish dance champions and dancers from Lord of the Dance and Riverdance. Tickets start at $50. Go to ucstars.com to purchase tickets.
Monday
Day 1 of flag placement on 2,000 graves of veterans starts at 10 a.m. at Linn Grove Cemetery, 1700 Cedar Ave., Greeley. Flag placement ends Saturday, May 24. Volunteers are needed. Call the Linn Grove Cemetery office at 970-350-9386 to sign up as a volunteer.
Tuesday
Knights of Columbus host bingo starting at 6:45 p.m. at the Greeley-Evans Moose Lodge, 3456 11th Ave. The doors open at 5 p.m.
Wednesday
Bike Night is at 5 p.m. at Burnout Grill, 1760 Broad St., Suite A, Milliken. The band Guilty As Charged will perform from 6-9 p.m. It’s a free event.
Thursday
The city of Greeley’s public works hosts its Meet the Fleet event from 4-6:30 p.m. on 7th Street, across from Lincoln Park, in downtown Greeley. The free event features city equipment vehicles, professional connections and family fun.
The Greeley Creative District hosts its Cacophony of Creatives from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at the Atlas Theater, 709 16th St., Greeley. The free event features a panel of Dylan Fixmer, a composer; Colette Pitcher, a visual artist; and Chalice Springfield, a growth mindset champion. The three will discuss how to break through mental blocks.
Friday, May 23
BlackBox Arts Collective hosts an art show from 6-8 p.m. at the Atlas Theater. The free show features 20 local artists, as well as local musicians.
