Echo Park may become the sweetest place for chocolate lovers thanks to a shop and cafe that’s bringing chocolates from around the world to the Los Angeles neighborhood.
The Chocolate Dispensary, which carries more than 850 chocolates from about 100 makers recently held its grand opening and is hitting the ground running with a May 18 event dubbed “Origin-Made Craft Chocolate.”
The 7 p.m. gathering is a talk and tasting event featuring chocolates made in the countries where the cacao is grown. It’ll include chocolates from places like Thailand, Brazil and the Philippines.
“The idea is to come and immerse yourself in craft chocolate from all around the world,” said Kala Maxym, co-founder of the chocolate shop and cafe.
